If you're on my about page, you're either in love with me, trying to steal my identity, or REALLY want to know what type of person I am before you hire me... I'm gonna go out on a limb and hope it's the last one...
EMPLOYERS AND CLIENTS!!! If you, for some unfathomable reason, don't care about my life story (🙄), use this link for the condensed version.
I'm Abe Naisent, but everyone calls me AB! (My name is AY-BEE not AY-B!!!). I'm South Indian, born in a beautiful state called Kerala, but I was raised in the STREETS of Bristol (the nice streets). I'm currently in my third and final year at University in Southampton, studying CGI and Visual Effects, however my interests go far beyond the realm of VFX and have lead me to being highly skilled in various sectors. These include, but definitely aren't limited to: Videography, Photography, Directing, Social Media, Fashion, Editing, Full Stack Web Development, Programming, etc. I honestly don't know how it all fits in my skull.
I like to describe myself as an Artist, Creative and a Generalist. Being a generalist gives me a unique perspective on any project, and allows us to think about options that other, more specialised, freelancers don't have the knowledge to provide. I'm a one man army!!! However, even generalists have strengths and weaknesses. I'd say my value lies in having a strong artistic side (Film, Editing, Social Media Content) in addition to a strong tech side (Web design, Social Media Marketing, Programming).
I currently live in Bristol and Southampton, but constantly travel to London and have a few friends I can harass for a place to stay temporarily if required. Also open to remote work! I'm currently open for work until January 2025, and I'm happy to take on part time work along with my studies, with possibility for full-time roles post April 2025.
That's a deep question, man. I'd like to say my story began at a young age, when I was editing videos for YouTubers at 13 years old for £5 a pop (not sure how legal that was 🤨), but to be honest, I wasn't that interested back then. From day one, I've always been fascinated by technology. All the way until I was 16, I had my eyes laser-focused on becoming the billionaire CEO of Google (might still do that if I get bored).
Then, being trapped at home for MONTHS, during the COVID Pandemic gave me the time to look inwards and realize that, while I loved everything about Computer Science, I wouldn't find joy in sitting at a desk for hours, day in and day out. That epiphany set me on the path to stumble upon Blender and the world of CGI. To me, Visual Effects is where technology meets art—a beautiful intersection where creating complex node graphs and meticulously modeling a 3D object creates a complex puzzle, that leaves you with a sense of fulfilment at the end.
From there, I decided to study it at university (going from a Computer Science degree to a Bachelor of Arts was NOT an easy sell to my parents ðŸ˜). And then, at uni, I had another realization: I'd just traded one desk for another. This pushed me to explore my other interests: directing, music, photography and more, which ultimately led me to where I am today!
I'm pretty good bro, thanks for asking :)
I'd be even better if you hired me, even after reading all that garbage! Send me an email at contact@abenaisent.com OR send me a DM on Instagram, @abe.exr, if that's easier!
